Your immune system helps your body fight infections. People with primary immunodeficiency have an immune system that does not work correctly. This means that people with PI are more likely to get and become very sick from infections.

There are more than 400 types of PI that vary in severity, which affects how early they are detected. In some cases, a person with a mild form may not find out that they have PI until adulthood. In other cases, the disorder causes problems in infancy and is found soon after birth.

A lot of times kids with PI get bullied in school because the knowledge about the disease is quite low. We were approached by Publicis Life brands to make a film for all those kids. So they can raise awareness of their diagnosis by showing it to their friends, classmates, and families.

These kids spend a lot of time in the hospital when getting their medicine. When they get their immune treatment, the drug company Takida is also providing them with a blue toy bear to help them cope with the stress. We decided to make that bear into a cool magical bear in our short film.

To accompany the film, we also created a comic book about Jamie and IGI the bear, where the kids can read about how it all started, how Jamie got diagnosed with PID, and the first time he meets IGI.

This is a project that we feel very good about on a personal level.
