This Altice ad was an interesting one. The brief was: “we need the chef to look traditionally hand-drawn. The production time is very very short, and there will be lots and lots of tweaks.”
Since hand-drawn animation is a time-consuming process we decided to tackle the task by building and rigging the chef in After Effects instead of drawing it frame by frame and afterward treating the footage so that more of that lovely hand-drawn feeling shines through.
