Gimmick! 2, a modern sequel to the cult-classic platformer Gimmick! (1992). Developed by Bitwave Games and built in Unreal Engine 5, the game follows Yumetaro through a physics-driven adventure where the iconic star mechanic is central to traversal, puzzles, and combat.  

 

Our work was produced frame-by-frame in TV-Paint, then prepared for integration into Unreal. 

Working in a small, tightly coordinated team, we focused on clean silhouettes, readable gameplay timing, and expressive hand-drawn motion that stays consistent across animation states, transitions, and player-controlled responsiveness.
